7 Strumming Patterns
Time to check out our 7 strum patterns! We’ll start off with some basic patterns and slowly make things more challenging. Each pattern comes with a few song examples so you can hear how it’s used in ‘real’ music. Of course, I also want you to dive right in and start practicing. So I’ve included the chord progression for each song, so you have everything you need to learn.
- STRUM PATTERN #1 – DOWNSTRUM ON EVERY BEAT
- STRUM PATTERN #2 – ADDING TWO UPSTRUMS
- STRUM PATTERN #3 – ADDING THREE UPSTRUMS
- STRUM PATTERN #4 – DOWNSTRUM ON THE BEAT, UPSTRUM OFF THE BEAT
- STRUM PATTERN #5 – TWO UPSTRUMS FOLLOWING EACH OTHER
- STRUM PATTERN #6 – TWO UPSTRUMS FOLLOW EACH OTHER TWICE IN ONE BAR
